David DrickhamerBusiness communication advisor, editor, researcher, and journalist. I am a B2B magazine editor, writer and reporter who for the past five years has helped businesses and professional organizations develop story-oriented thought leadership and content marketing material that supports lead generation efforts and builds stronger relationships with current and potential clients and customers.
Clients - I've worked with organizations like yours—marketers, consulting and recruiting firms, entrepreneurs, manufacturing companies, industry and management associations, and unions—on high quality content marketing campaigns and projects that support internal and external communication, marketing and business objectives.
Writing and Editing - I've written and edited a wide variety of business stories. Previously, as an editor for IndustryWeek magazine, I reported on issues and trends in organizational development, business strategy, supply-chain management, and manufacturing. I also wrote a monthly column on operational excellence. Research - I directed IndustryWeek's Best Plants factory award competition from 1999-2004, leading the editorial team that annually selects and profiles the best manufacturing facilities in North America. I also managed the magazine's other major research projects, including the IW1000 and US500 list of largest publicly traded manufacturers in the world and the United States (in partnership with Mergent), Best Manufacturing Companies, Census of Manufacturers benchmarking study (with the Manufacturing Performance Institute) and the Value Chain Survey (with IBM Consulting Services). Project and team management - As editorial director and associate publisher of Penton Media’s Supply Chain Group I managed and worked with an exceptional editorial team to develop articles, coordinate news coverage and create other content for print, our websites and conferences. Education - Back in the too-distant past I earned bachelor's degrees in American Studies and English from Brandeis University. More recently I completed work toward an executive MBA at the Nance College of Business at Cleveland State University. |
